interesting...

I have realized that whenever I am dating someone, my music tastes really reflects my relationship with them, or something along those lines. For example:

• Jonah: lots of Flaming Lips, Third Eye Blind, and The Darkness//relationship: a very goofy, immature relationship
• Miles: a lot more rock stuff (classic rock especially), some weird indie shit that I tried to “get into”, music I have found that have changed my perspectives on music// relationship: my first love, easily changed my perspective on life and relationships, but like a lot of the weird indie shit I was into, thankfully outgrew
• Mr. Distraction: a lot of folky, acoustic stuff, lots of female voices//relationship: very calming and helpful for what I was going through, a sense of female empowerment about relationships and my place in them
• T: so lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of upbeat indie stuff…really peppy and interesting and flowy//relationship: fun, easy, taking it day by day in the flow of things

Can anyone else relate?
